This is an example of a violation of a commonplace we hold in American society: personal space. In America, you keep your distance unless your are invited.

Here, the doritos druggie invades the man's personal space and then licks the man's finger. In the Middle East, the licking the fingers might still be a bit much. However, on public transportation, for example, they pack in like sardines and they don't shower either.

In short, this commercial wouldn't have as much "umph" in some societies because they don't put as much emphasis on privacy as we do.
