Pathos: Arousal or expression of emotion

Ones emotions are invoked when people close to him, or his values, are threatened/praised/reinforced.

Emotions-->assumptions people share similar emotional responses.
-->communal-excited by relations w/ others.

It is easier to move people who are already passionate about an issue than people who are indifferent

Willingness to change mind, emotion intensity of an opinion, and degree to which identity is wrapped up in that opinion.
